Martin und ich sind beide aus Deutschland. Nach seinem Antrag im November 2013 wollten wir nicht mehr warten und so schnell wie möglich heiraten. Aber wie und wo? Der Gedanke an ein muffiges Amtszimmer schreckte uns ab, und auch die so genannten „Ambiente Trauungen“ gegen Aufpreis erschienen uns nicht viel besser. Zumal das Winterwetter in Deutschland wenig Raum für meinen Traum von einem schulterfreien Kleid zur Trauung zulässt.
Als eingefleischte Outdoor und Beach Fans war uns schnell klar, dass eine Strandhochzeit perfekt für uns wäre. Also ab in die Wärme, ganz unkonventionell, und nur wir beide.
Die ersten Ziele, die uns in den Sinn kamen, waren die klassischen Hochzeitsziele Seychellen und Malediven. Schnell recherchierten wir mögliche Destinationen und Wedding Packages, denn wir wünschten uns vor allem ein von Profihand durchorganisiertes, kleines romantisches Event. Und genauso schnell wurden wir enttäuscht. Nicht nur, dass die Preise unglaublich hoch waren, die angebotenen Packages wirkten alle gleich, wenig individuell, sondern eher lieblos und unpersönlich.
Also nicht das Richtige.
Da wir große USA Fans sind und jedes Jahr in die Staaten fliegen, kam mir die Idee, doch einfach Las Vegas zu heiraten. Wo könnte es besser funktionieren als in der Hochburg der Hochzeiten? Wir waren schon häufiger in Vegas, und ich sah uns schon in einer süßen kleinen weißen Kapelle stehen. Also wieder Wedding Packages und Verfügbarkeiten recherchieren. Aber bei genauerer Betrachtung schien das Angebot weniger romantisch, sondern eher lieblos und unpersönlich, knallhart kalkuliert mit Aufpreis für jede noch so winzige Kleinigkeit.
Also auch nicht das Richtige.
Unser absoluter Lieblingsort ist Siesta Key Beach in Florida. Da wir fast jedes Jahr dort sind und wissen, wie wunderschön es ist, kam mir die Idee, warum nicht einfach dort heiraten? Einerseits war ich begeistert von dem Gedanken, andererseits schreckte mich die Vorstellung ab, mich von Heiratserlaubnis über Stranderlaubnis bis hin zum Brautstrauß um alles selber kümmern zu müssen. Aber ich war überzeugt, dass eine paradiesische Strandhochzeit die Mühe wert sein würde. Im Internet schaute ich mir einige Wedding Planner an. Irgendwie zog mich die professionelle Website von Florida Sun Weddings von Anfang an in den Bann. Ich muss zugeben, dass mich vor allem das sympathische Foto von Teamfoto von Sigrid, Christina und Tina sofort überzeugte, genauso wie die liebevoll zusammengestellten, individuellen Packages, die wirklich für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei haben.
Sofort schickte ich eine Email an Sigrid und bekam innerhalb kürzester Zeit eine überaus nette Antwort. Und wie erleichtert war ich, als ich erfuhr, dass ich mich um NICHTS selbst kümmern musste! Alles wurde von Florida Sun Weddings organisiert, wir mussten uns nur noch für eine Farbe und das passende Package entscheiden. Und es gab sogar genau den Hochzeitsbogen, von dem ich immer geträumt hatte. Und das alles zu einem angemessenen Preis, der bei weitem unter den Kosten für Seychellen oder Malediven lag. Und innerhalb weniger Wochen realisierbar. Ich telefonierte ein paar Mal mit Sigrid, die selbstverständlich Deutsch spricht, um Fragen und Details abzuklären. Nach nur wenigen Emails und Telefonaten war alles ganz unkompliziert geklärt und geplant.
Genau so stressfrei und gut organisiert wie die Vorbereitungen verlief dann unser Hochzeitstag. Es gibt nur ein Wort, um das zu beschreiben: PERFEKT! Alles lief reibungslos und ganz genau so, wie wir es uns ausgemalt hatten. Unser „officiant“ Scott Clark ist der Beste! Er hat die wunderschönste Zeremonie abgehalten, die man sich nur vorstellen kann. Und erst die vielen umwerfenden Fotos, die Christina von uns gemacht hat. Einfach unglaublich, wie talentiert sie darin ist, die Magie des Moments einzufangen. Diese einzigartigen Erinnerungen sind unbezahlbar. Wir hatten zusätzlich noch eine Videoaufzeichnung gebucht, die wunderschön geworden ist und uns auch heute noch immer zu Tränen rührt.
Ursprünglich hatten wir geplant, im Sommer eine kirchliche Hochzeit in Deutschland zu feiern. Da unsere Strandhochzeit aber 100% perfekt war, waren wir uns sicher, dass nichts diesen wunderschönen Tag übertreffen könnte und entschieden uns deshalb, auf eine weitere Feier zu verzichten.
Mein Ehemann hat sich so gut mit Mark verstanden, dass wir uns im letzten Jahr kurz vor Hurrikan Irma zum gemeinsamen Paddle Boarding in Florida getroffen haben, und diesem Treffen werden sicherlich noch weitere folgen.
Wir sind Perfektionisten und sprechen nur äußerst selten Empfehlungen aus. Eine Hochzeit geplant von Florida Sun Weddings können wir jedoch uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Martin and I are both from Germany. After our engagement in November 2013, we didn’t want to wait any longer and get married as soon as possible. But where and when? The thought of entering a stuffy, cold county clerk’s office did not sound appealing to us. Especially since the winter weather in Germany leaves little room for my dream of a strapless dress for a wedding ceremony.
As avid outdoor and beach fans we came quickly to the conclusion that a destination beach wedding would be perfect for us. So off to the heat, completely unconventional, and only the two of us.
The first destinations that came to mind were the classic wedding destinations Seychelles and Maldives. We quickly researched possible destinations and wedding packages, because we especially wanted a small, romantic event organized by a professional team. And just as quickly, we were disappointed. Not only were the prices were incredibly high, the packages offered seemed identical, rather loveless and impersonal. This was not the right thing for us.
Since we are big USA fans and travel to the States every year, I got the idea to just marry in Las Vegas. What could be better than the capital of weddings? We’ve been to Vegas before, and I could see ourselves standing in a cute little white chapel. We researched again the options available on wedding packages but as we took a closer look they seemed less romantic than our previous thought. So again, not the right thing for us.
Our absolute favorite spot in the US is Siesta Key Beach in Florida. Since we go there every year and know how beautiful it is, I got the idea, why not just marry there? On one hand, I was excited about the idea, on the other hand, the idea frightened me to have to take care of everything myself from marriage license to the beach permit and the bridal bouquet. But I was convinced that a heavenly beach wedding would be worth the effort. On the internet I looked at a few wedding planners. Somehow, the professional website of Florida Sun Weddings attracted me from the start. I have to admit, the attractive team photo of Sigrid, Tina, and Cristina convinced me, just as the lovingly arranged, individual packages that really have something for every taste.
I immediately sent an email to Sigrid and within a very short time, I received a very nice answer. And how relieved I was when I learned that I had to take care of NOTHING myself! Everything would be organized by Florida Sun Weddings, we just had to choose a color and the right package. And they even had the exact wedding arch I had always dreamed of, and all for a reasonable price, which was far below the cost of Seychelles or Maldives. Within a few weeks, everything came together. I called Sigrid a couple of times and to no surprise, we spoke in German and she answered all my questions and details.
Just as the planning was stress-free and well-organized, so was our wedding day. There is only one word to describe it: PERFECT! Everything went smoothly and exactly as we had imagined. Our “officiant” Scott Clark is the best! He held the most beautiful ceremony imaginable. And the many stunning photos Cristina took of us; just amazing how talented she is in capturing the magic of the moment. These unique memories are priceless. In addition, we had booked a videographer, and are still to this day moved to tears looking at the video.
Originally we had planned to celebrate a church wedding in Germany in the summer. But as our destination beach wedding in Florida was 100% perfect, we were sure nothing could top this beautiful day and therefore decided to forego another celebration.
